This is the first of two posts from my photo shoot with my friend Lauren, who is the brilliant mind behind Fleurie. One of my favorite things to do as a photographer is take portraits of musicians and artists. Nothing paints pictures in my mind the way that music does. Naturally the ideal way to understand a person and prepare to photograph him/her is to step into the world of music that he/she has created and do my best to bring that to life.

All of these photos were taken at the studio in WELD here in Nashville.
