I had the opportunity to shoot with the lovely Elise Joseph of Pennyweight. She invited me into her home to capture in her natural element while wearing some pieces by Elizabeth Suzann.

Special thanks to Ryan Green for taking photos with me and sharing your talent.

Mikaela is a good friend and talented photographer. We were both in need of new head shots so we spent a morning photographing each other. Here's what I got.

Fashion | Kaitlyn and Jessica
I recently did a fashion shoot for an article that will soon be published on the website 12th and Broad. Had a ton of fun doing these photos and was super stoked with the results!

Portrait | Madison
Photography has brought so many awesome people into my life. Madison is a prime example of one of them. Yesterday we grabbed some coffee sodas from one of the best coffee shops in Nashville and went shooting. It was a ton of fun, and we even spotted an Instagram-famous dog or two.
Personal | Elizabethtown, KY
This past Saturday I ventured to Elizabethtown, Kentucky with my friend Alyssa to shoot a wedding. The combination of the lighting from the setting sun and the broad selection of green fields in Kentucky was enough to inspire us to pull over and take some photos. This is the result.
Portrait | Maisen Smalley
Yesterday I had the joy of taking pictures of one of my good friends Maisen. We took advantage of the spring weather and all its blooms, and did some exploring in downtown Nashville. Maisen was one of the first musicians that I collaborated with when I moved to Nashville, and she has been a great friend ever since. I am blessed to have people like her in my life, and, as you will see, the camera loves her.
A Song for Old Songs
Today my band, Southerner, released our first EP called "A Song for Old Songs." This is a very special day for me for many reasons. This is something that I have aspired to do since my middle school days when I first started writing songs. It took a year and a half for this set of songs to reach its full maturity, but I think the songs display the intentionality that we put into both their writing and production.
I am so thankful for these guys that I get to write music with and for the stories that we now have because we set out to make this music. There is something really special that comes from writing music with people that you can call your best friends. When I first came to college, I never thought that this would be a reality, but now I am sitting here writing about it on a blog that I never thought would be a reality either. God has given me so many opportunities since I moved to Nashville. I am thankful for the possibility of expressing myself through music and photography, and I am thankful that I get to share it all with you.

I hope that you enjoy the music. Feel free to share your thoughts on the songs!
Engagements | Tadd and Kate
I had the privilege of taking Tadd and Kate's engagement photos this weekend. I am going to be shooting their wedding in August so it was great to get to hang out with them and get to know them better. The first part of the shoot was done at the Well coffee shop, which is where Tadd proposed. The next day we did some exploring in Franklin, and stumbled through some fields and an Anthropology or two.
Senior Portraits | Courtney
I got to take some of Courtney's senior portraits on New Year's Eve. It was really cold, but really fun. She is super fun to hang out with it, and she is super good at laughing as you will see.
The first of many.
It's the beginning of the year. A time where everyone reflects on their past year and peps himself/herself up for the upcoming one. I am thankful that there are moments like this where I can reflect on where I have been and where I am going. It's probably something that needs to be done way more than once a year.
It is crazy to me that I am writing my first blog post on my photography website. At the beginning of 2013 I had no desire to be a photographer or have a website, and now I look where I am. I didn't even own a digital camera until this June, and now I am here pursuing a career with it. 2013 was full of opportunities to grow, and I am thankful for each one. Nashville has surrounded me by so many creative, inspiring people and so many chances to expand my creativity and hone in on the inspiration that I have because of this community.
2014 has a lot of promising opportunities on its horizon, and I cannot wait to see what they are, and I can't wait to show you what they were.
